Privacy Policy
Last updated June 23, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Cob ("cob", "we") handles personal information on trycob.com — our marketing site. It does not cover the cob application, which has its own terms when you sign in.
Who we are
Cob is the controller of personal information collected through trycob.com. Reach us at privacy@trycob.com.
What we collect
Information you give us
Your email address, when you join the early-access list. We don't ask for anything else.
A record of your consent
When you join, we store the exact consent wording you agreed to, the date and time, a one-way hashed version of your IP address, and your browser's user-agent string — kept as proof of consent and to prevent abuse. We do not store your raw IP address.
Information collected automatically
Like any website, our hosting provider processes technical request data (including IP address) in server logs to operate and secure the site. A single strictly necessary cookie remembers your cookie choice — see our Cookie Policy.
Analytics — only if you allow it
If you consent, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand site traffic. It sets cookies and processes data such as device and browser, pages viewed, and approximate location derived from your IP, with Google acting as our processor. Nothing analytics-related loads until you opt in.
Why we use it, and our legal bases
For visitors in the EU/EEA and UK, our lawful bases under the GDPR and UK GDPR are:
- To send you the product updates you asked for — your consent.
- To operate, secure, and prevent abuse of the site — our legitimate interests.
- To measure traffic with analytics — your consent.
You can withdraw consent at any time: the unsubscribe link in every email, and "Cookie settings" in the footer for analytics.
How we share it
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it for cross-context behavioral advertising or anyone else's marketing. We rely on a few service providers (processors) who handle data on our behalf:
- Vercel — website hosting.
- Supabase — the database that stores the early-access list (a project separate from the cob application).
- Google — analytics, only if you consent.
We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect our rights.
International transfers
We are based in the United States and our providers process data there. Where we transfer personal data from the EEA or UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.
How long we keep it
We keep your email on the early-access list until you ask us to remove you or we close the list, whichever comes first. Consent records are kept as long as needed to evidence your consent. Server logs are kept for a short period for security.
Your rights
Everyone: you can ask us to access, correct, or delete your information, and you can unsubscribe from emails at any time — just email privacy@trycob.com.
EEA / UK (GDPR / UK GDPR): you also have rights to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent. You may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office).
United States, including Delaware: depending on your state, you may have rights to confirm, access, correct, delete, and obtain a copy of your personal data, and to opt out of targeted advertising, the "sale" of personal data, and certain profiling. We do not sell personal data or use it for targeted advertising. Under the Delaware Personal Data Privacy Act and similar state laws you may also appeal a decision on your request. To exercise any of these, email privacy@trycob.com; we will verify and respond within the time the applicable law requires.
Children
trycob.com is not directed to children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.
How we protect it
The early-access list is stored in a database reachable only with server-side credentials, IP addresses are stored only in hashed form, and we apply reasonable technical and organizational measures. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure.
Changes
We'll post any changes here and update the "Last updated" date above; material changes will be made prominent.
